DAR Live shows
vile
Few months ago there was a live show from Phelios for Neurobeat, it was amazing opportunity for all of his fans who cannot attend some of the live shows he's performing. Have you ever thought of something like this to be done on DAR. For example once a month or something like that. Will it be technically possible actually?

Because I think such online shows are one step in the future development of music and there will be interest from DA fans and will present the radio to many new people.

It's just an idea, I don't know if it has been already discussed somewhere in the forum.

Yes, a series of living-room concerts, similar to what John Diliberto did on *Echoes* years ago.

I listened to the Neurobeat anniversary show as well and enjoyed it.

Recently, when doing a label special, the feedback wasn't exactly to be called overwhelming. So I suspect the audience of an online concert might be limited on this station.

Technically there isn't any problem and I would offer an hour or so to any artist I'm sure of to be able to fill it with something substancial that fits into the program.

I love the idea. Did radio concerts and dj-sets some years ago and it worked fine.
I'd also like to have some rare "specials" on DAR. E.g. presenting some new cds or maybe even interviews.

It would be a very private thing, maximum of 40 listeners... but make a concept and I open an input channel!

I resisted the temptation of doing live shows with the usual radio maker babbling, but if you think you can do an inspired voice part then go ahead!

The institutionalized representatives of music rights in Germany forbid to present whole CDs on internet radios. I could lose my license. Whenever I put a new album into the playlist, I move three tracks of it in the next hour.

i like this idea with a live concert in the Dark Ambient Radio.
so i?m also interested in this too to make a live concert from my homestudio in some time.

how is this technically working?? i hook up my mixer output to the soundcard input on the internet computer and with a client programm that can stream into the DAR Radio?

DarkAmbient
Yes, you could use the Shoutcast plugin for Winamp. Using it, you have the option to broadcast from the winamp playlist or the soundcard input.

Have in mind that on 13.10.08 Stephen told us to ask him after an year, and this year will end in exactly one month so his live on DAR is also to be added to the schedule Grin

Absolute killer idea Thomas!!
live shows are the best for all of us who are in the other corner of the planet. We can enjoy your works and stream our works too. Maybe we can arrange a big dark ambient jam too Shock Grin
This is simply great.

For a jam, I think the delay when using shoutcast is too much. And Shoutcast is designed to have one input and have the signal multiplied to many outputs. A jam would require the opposite.

But it would be surprising it there wont be a free software designed to transfer and mix a stereo audio signal over the internet with low latency...

Interesting tip, I'll have a look. Thanks you Thomas.

Sorry for the disruption. My power grid provider installed a smart meter.

Das liegt daran, dass ich überhaupt nur ganz wenige "Bands" im Programm habe. Wink

Ich bin nun regelmäßig hier auf dem Sender. Einige Bands werden gar nicht gespielt. Schade !!!

@Goten Fixed this side effect of the new php version. Note: In Firefox (or IceCat) any stream link with a semicolon at the end will play directly in the browser, here http://s3.viastrea
