One of my highlights of the year 2008. By now the longest track in the playlist with 71 minutes.
Some of the spatial effects were crippled a bit by the AAC+ encoding, if I am not completely mistaken. The mp3 I took sounds authentic though.
Sorry for that. I will have to do some research...
The hissing sound between 25:00 and 30:00 is, by the way, not the usual bitrate-too-low problem with mp3s. Its already there on the CD and obviously intended.

I have not listened to the album because it was not available at my favorite mailorder. But I like the soundsamples on his homepage a lot! There are three new tracks* on his myspace account since yesterday!
* all important darkambient bands put three new tracks to their profiles these days! ;-) |

In the last time, I worked on some eyecandy to give you a fantastic visual near-space experience to my track Sternklang. So here is the result...
The Illusion Of Time (Video)
Keep in mind that my original intention in general still is to make your own mental images on this kind of sound !!! But, you know...X3 is just beautiful.
I hope it works for you, the resolution is 1024 x 768 and has almost the best XviD compression quality for an excellent view into the amazing depths of space.
I would be happy about some comments. If you like the track, go for it and buy the CD, there are still some availiable!

Awesome! This might set standards for dark ambient productions. When will we get a DVD with 5.1 mix?
Do you have any kind of agreement with Egosoft, using their 3D models?
What are your plans?
A technical comment: I'd recommend providing a lower resolution (my poor media pc doesn't play back smoothly). Some scenes could use anti-aliasing. I personally like 60 Hz videos, if you have the space -- temporal resolution is badly underestimated in my opinion. 16:9 would be nice (i.e. 512x288 pixels). And use the h264 codec for video data, should you render/encode it again!

thanks ! Don't worry, since my own machine is not High End, the graphic FPS are a bit laggy from time to time...plus i think there are pretty much rendering lags.
And i have problems with my Video Prog, for some codecs you have to register, otherwise i probably would deliver the product in MPEG2 or HDV format. For the antialiasing, I used different resolutions in the recordings, since i got pretty limited space left on my harddrives...
well, the 5.1 mix....hummm, for now i'm through with the album, but who knows. my neighbors use to freak out when i work on this track, they probably call the police if i play it on a nice 5.1 soundsystem (over and over and over and over and...over again).

Fascninating! Great video!!! Did you remix the music? I remembered some parts to be different than the cd. But maybe the visual impression changed the way of listening to the music. |
