I?m not such a huge fan of Sennheiser cans as they tend to be rather bass-heavy and uncomfortable on the ears for extended listening sessions. I?ve always been a fan of MB Quart Quartphones (esp. 90 and 95) but these were discontinued a few years ago when MB went into liquidation. Now they are back again under the German Maestro moniker -- definitely worth checking out.
AKG K701 is rumoured to be quite good as well but I can?t tell from first-hand experience.
Best way of testing would be bringing your personal favourite CDs and listening to them for a while.
